More Pictures!

Here we go again from top to bottom counterclockwise:

Mommy and Madison on a tank at General Patton's memorial, Luxembourg's army of 426 men was not prepared to fight off the Nazi's so the Americans came to help and they made us a nice memorial and a museum.

Madison at home on her half birthday.

For the first time in a high chair in Applebee's trying to catch a balloon tied to her wrist- if you thought that was daddy's idea you are correct

Enjoying her first ever pool party.

Pictures!

Here are finally some pictures from our trip :

The first one is on top of a castle in Dame, a small town(really small) about 10 min out of Bruge. What you don't see on the picture are the tiny, winding, going forever stairs I had to climb with Madison's whole 16 pounds strapped on me. I do have the descend documented on video.

The second one is in a park front of some ever important cathedral in Brussels. It was very hard to find a picture in which my mother is not present adjusting and fixing some part or other of Madison. You can still see a part of her limy yellow shirt.

The third one is Madison asleep while we walking around Vianden a tiny tourist town in Luxembourg, build around a really cool castle that we visited.

Days gone by

Looking back i can't see where June and July went. Just yesterday we were packing to go to Europe and today i can see the end of the summer waving at me.
Ashamed to say I don't know what I did all these days and still didn't get to write.
To recap the European holiday was lovely and eye-opening. Now i have a better idea why I left and why I can never go back. It was also very educational when it comes to traveling with a baby. I also figured that the EU electrical grid can't handle my hair dryer and walked around with unwashed hair for more than two weeks, afraid of the curls and the frizz. I thanked god that i didn't have to learn how to drive stick, while Jeff suffered at almost every intersection to put the car in 1st gear.
Madison and I flew back all alone and I learned that most people are pretty empathetic and understanding when you are traveling with a baby. The baby on most occasions, however, is neither understanding nor empathetic.
Madison had her first cold and could not figure out why she couldn't breathe through her nose. Poor thing was snoring like a lawn mower.
When we came back we visited Jeff's aunt and uncle at the Hamptons. Again a very educational weekend. Madison learned all about dogs, catfishes and the laws of gravity. She had a bruise on her head for about a week and we have now invested in bed rails.
We went to our first birthday party and enjoyed the pool, although Maddie slept through the cutting of the cake.
Last weekend we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa and had a blast.
Sleep training or our attempts to it have been unsuccessful. Madison refuses to sleep anywhere else but in our bed. she screams her head off when put in her crib and I don't mean cry, I mean SCREAM. The good news is that she doesn't fall asleep on my boob any more. I can actually read to her and she falls asleep next to me. We finished Peter Pan and are now reading Pippi Longstocking.

So yes I guess that has been our summer so far.
I will post pictures from all our adventures soon( I hope)

just another day

here are some pics from the weekend.
Madison is getting very mobile- trying to stand herself up, getting n her hands and knees and shaking her bootie- it's quite fun to watch even she eventually ends up on her face and starts wining.
We keep experimenting with new foods and she makes funny faces every time i put something different in her mouth but so far hasn't refused anything.
