Meeting the Family

Madison finally met most of her cousins this weekend at her Grandpa's birthday. If it wasn't for the three shots in her thighs she got on friday she would have been pretty good. She wailed and wailed until we gave her some tylenol and then she passed out. Other than that she seems to be pretty comfortable with anyone holding her and i think she thought her uncle Steven was her dad.
the doctor was pretty happy with her - she is 12 lb and 22 inches- we have officially moved into #2 diapers and comfortably wear some 3 to 6 months clothes while retiring most of her 0-3 wardrobe. so we have a pretty healthy baby on our hands and we can't complain. Her eyes are getting lighter and i am pretty sure they will turn out hazel which is what we ordered.
For going away for the first time it wasn't that bad- i definitely overpacked clothes for her and for me, but i guess it's better to have more than less. the next challenge will be getting on the plane and going to Florida- i should probably start planning what to pack from now so i don't forget something.

on a different note I got my braces today and am now trying to eat some cream of wheat it's more like slurping really except for the small pieces of bananas that are turning out to be pretty hard to eat. I thought bananas are soft food. I think i am going to stick to soup and milk shakes for a couple of days. Looking forward to the end of April when half of my teeth are going to be extracted including the two lower wisdom teeth. I hope they have an epidural for that kind of stuff. Everyone says that it would be better than labor but i don't like the idea of having my teeth pulled out so hopefully they can drug me pretty hard. after the epidural and all the screaming i did during labor i have no shame about pain- give me all the drugs possible. Ironically i know women who have given birth naturally but i haven't heard of anyone having their wisdom teeth pulled out without some form of drug administered.
It's a pretty weird sensation having all that wire in your mouth but two years from now i will feel pretty good about my smile i guess.
I think i now have to go and brush my teeth because half my lunch is still on my braces- no wonder i am still hungry.

Oh man do I know the braces route....ugh. I lived on mashed potatoes, pastina, jello and pudding. On an upnote, I thought getting my wisdom teeth pulled was easier than the braces. Glad to hear the baby is doing well.
